Paige Berry is a Partner in the Business and Finance Department and a member of the Insurance Practice Group. She concentrates on advising clients on insurance law and regulation in numerous areas. Paige’s practice includes the acquisition, formation and admission of insurance companies. She brings to the Firm extensive experience with New Jersey’s regulatory insurance industry.

Paige regularly counsels clients on:

  • regulatory interaction and negotiation
  • state licensing laws
  • agent issues including rebating and inducement laws
  • change of control, insurer and producer licensing
  • regulatory filings
  • insurance law and regulation
  • legislative issues

She has defended insurance companies in enforcement actions before regulatory bodies as well as insurance companies in insurance coverage disputes. As part of her insurance practice, Paige assists clients in obtaining regulatory approvals and has played an integral role in the negotiation of reinsurance, loss of control and claims management services.

In addition to her insurance practice, Paige has a general practice in government relations, administrative law and financial services. She has appeared before federal and state agencies on proposed rules and legislation and has been a New Jersey registered legislative agent for more than a decade. Paige possesses a thorough knowledge of New Jersey election law and is familiar with various public entity laws such as Pay-to-Play laws, the Open Public Meetings Act and Open Public Records Act.

Paige is active politically and is a member of the Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey and the Burlington County Republican Women. In 1994, she received a direct appointment from New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman to serve as Commissioner of the Commission to Study Sex Discrimination in the Statutes. She served on the transition teams for former New Jersey Governors Whitman and James E. McGreevey where she advised the team on insurance issues with respect to the state’s Department of Banking and Insurance.
