Matt Haar focuses his practice on corporate and commercial litigation with an emphasis on complex insurance and reinsurance litigation, including cases regarding bad faith and extra-contractual liability. Matt has represented both insurance companies and insureds in a wide variety of insurance related litigations, including complex coverage and contractual disputes, antitrust matters, bad faith actions, and rehabilitations and liquidations. Matt also routinely handles extra-contractual liability cases for other clients in the financial services industry such as real estate agents and brokers, banks, trusts, producers and credit card companies. He has also handled significant litigation in employment law, including matters involving sex, race and age discrimination. Matt is a co-author and regional editor of "Insurance Bad Faith: A Compendium of State Law," DRI Defense Library Series (2d. Ed. 2006), which is a comprehensive fifty state survey on the law of insurance bad faith, now in its second edition.

Matt is also a member of the firm’s Marcellus Shale and Oil and Gas practices. He has experience litigating disputes related to exploration, production and transportation of oil and natural gas, in state and federal courts as well as Pennsylvania State Administrative Agencies.
