As a Partner in the Business and Finance Department and Chair of the Health Law Practice Group, Mr. Bodenger concentrates his practice on healthcare law, with an emphasis in healthcare corporate/commercial law, healthcare compliance matters and administrative law matters involving federal and state healthcare-related regulatory agencies.

Mr. Bodenger brings to Saul Ewing significant experience in structuring and negotiating mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures involving hospitals, physicians, behavioral health facilities, home health, specialty infusion and durable medical equipment companies. Mr. Bodenger also has significant experience in serving as defense counselor for healthcare providers, vendors and suppliers in disputes with government enforcement agencies and insurance companies. In addition, Mr. Bodenger has significant experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of corporate compliance programs for hospitals and health systems. Mr. Bodenger also has significant experience in Medicare Part A and Part B payment matters, and dealings with state and federal licensing and enforcement agencies.

Immediately prior to joining Saul Ewing, Mr. Bodenger was a partner at the Philadelphia office of Duane Morris, LLP. Mr. Bodenger started in private legal practice in 1994, and served as Chair of the Health Law Department at Stevens and Lee from 1994 to 1997. Prior to entering private legal practice, Mr. Bodenger worked for more than 10 years at Ernst and Young (Ernst and Whinney) in the firm’s healthcare management consulting practice, in areas of healthcare strategic planning and Medicare reimbursement matters. Upon leaving Ernst and Young in 1992, Mr. Bodenger became a principal in The Raleigh Group (TRG), a boutique healthcare consulting firm, and was active in the sale of TRG to a publicly-held company in 1994.
