Indira Sharma participates in University of Baltimore’s BLSA Diversity Symposium

February 21, 2012 – Indira K. Sharma, a member of the Litigation Department and Vice Chair of the Diversity Committee, was one of five panelists who participated in a Diversity Symposium on February 17th that was hosted by the University of Baltimore Law School’s Black Law Students Association.

The symposium, "Have We Reached the Mountain Top? Perspectives on Minority Progress," was moderated by the Hon. William "Billy" Murphy, Jr., a well-known and accomplished Baltimore, Maryland attorney who served as a judge on the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.

Indira's fellow panelists included Verna Myers, Esq.; Willarda Edwards, MD; Dedrick Muhammad, NAACP; and Hans I. Moore, Esq. The dialogue, which focused on African-Americans in the legal community – where they have come, where they need to go, was insightful, informative and frank, says Baltimore Office Manager Ruth Fry, who attended the event with Saul Ewing attorneys Joey Chen, Sarah Lacey and Kim Manuelides.

"She knocked it out of the park," Ruth said of Indira's presentation. "She was firing on all cylinders. Indira did a fantastic job of representing the firm in front of about 70 attendees, including the interim Dean of the University of Baltimore and other dignitaries."
