In this article about Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation, Francie Cohen Spahn, an Associate in the Real Estate Department, discusses how some Maryland jurisdictions are beginning to require LEED Silver-certified buildings. Spahn earned her LEED accreditation in 2008 from the U.S. Green Building Council Certification Institute in Washington, D.C. because she wanted to be proactive in counseling developers and other clients involved in LEED projects.
