Driscoll quoted on patent reform legislation following midterm elections
"Election Leaves Fate Of Patent Reform Up In The Air", Law360
Stephen J. Driscoll, a partner in the Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group, was quoted in a November 3 Law360 article on the difficulty a divided Congress will face in passing patent reform legislation. With Republicans taking control of the U.S. House of Representatives and making significant gains in the Senate, legislation is unlikely to pass unless it appears as a bipartisan measure and an economy booster. Mr. Driscoll said, “Patent reform strikes me as not an issue closely tied to the formation of jobs and strengthening the economy. Any new members of the House and Senate have a pretty clear indication that they must focus on the economy and job creation, and to the extent that other things are going on, they will become less important.”
