Burcat Quoted in Article about Oil Leak

"Cost of Spill is Murky, and So is Who Pays", Associated Press

December 3, 2004

Joel R. Burcat, a Partner in the Harrisburg office and Chair of the Environment, Energy and Utilities Department, is quoted in this article about the cost of litigation resulting from an oil leak from a Greek tanker into the Delaware River in November 2004.

"What we have right now is a regulatory and litigation nightmare and it's also an environmental disaster," he said. Mr. Burcat worked for years on the legal fallout after an oil storage tank in Floreffe, Pa., leaked nearly four million gallons of oil into the Monongahela River.
