Saul Ewing Associate Gregory G. Schwab Appointed to Philadelphia VIP’s Executive Committee
(Philadelphia, PA, February 18, 2013) – Saul Ewing LLP is pleased to announce that Gregory G. Schwab, an associate in the Commercial Litigation and White Collar and Government Enforcement practices, has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Philadelphia VIP.
VIP was founded in 1981 by Community Legal Services and the Philadelphia Bar Association to provide pro bono legal assistance when Legal Services Corporation funding to Philadelphia’s Community Legal Services was drastically cut. VIP recruits and trains private bar attorneys to provide consistent, high quality representation to low income clients with critical legal needs, and continually seeks to create and implement creative and effective ways of bridging the gap between socially marginalized individuals, families and communities with legal needs, and lawyers possessing the skills and ability to meet those needs.
Schwab has served on VIP’s Board of Directors since January 2012. He is also Co-Chair of the organization’s Recruitment and Retention Committee. In his legal work, he devotes considerable time to pro bono matters. In 2007, 2010 and 2012, the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania named him to its Roll of Honor in recognition of his commitment to representing indigent persons in the Philadelphia region.
Schwab focuses his law practice on representing clients in complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts, as well as arbitration forums. A large part of his practice also involves representing individuals and companies in connection with government investigations and enforcement matters.
He received his law degree, with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law and his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Catholic University of America.
