Geoff represents insurance companies and brokers in complex litigation involving a variety of issues, including coverage disputes, benefit denials (including bad-faith actions), and claims of fraud and misrepresentation. Geoff has significant experience defending insurers in state and federal courts and before the Maryland Insurance Administration.

Many of his clients’ contracts contain arbitration clauses and Geoff has vast experience counseling clients and enforcing their arbitration rights.

Geoff advises public and private companies, management, boards and directors, and board committees on a range of corporate governance matters, including allegations of breach of fiduciary duties, conflicts of interest and related-party transactions, shareholder demand response, and special litigation committee formation and investigations. Geoff is frequently engaged to serve as Maryland counsel on shareholder disputes for corporate clients, particularly real estate investment trusts (REITs), in single shareholder suits and class actions.
