George Apostolides is a business and bankruptcy litigator who advises clients in the life sciences, cannabis, higher education, manufacturing, retail and technology industries. Drawing on over 25 years of experience, George handles cases in federal and state courts both in Illinois and nationwide for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to individuals who need a strong advocate. George serves as a trusted advisor for clients, and focuses on their business interests in both the short and long term. George also manages teams of attorneys who assist clients in a variety of practice areas.

George has developed his understanding of the challenges businesses face not only from interacting with clients, but also from his roles in Firm management.

Currently, George helps set Firm policy as a member of the Executive Committee, and he also is a member of a task force evaluating the Firm's real estate needs. As a vice chair of the Litigation Practice, George is involved with strategy relating to hiring, practice group focus and staffing major matters. He was also previously chair of the Integration Leadership Team.

George has led case teams on hundreds of matters in his career and has tried dozens of cases to juries, judges and arbitrators. He has also handled appeals and argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit on multiple occasions. George has extensive experience handling commercial disputes, including:

  • breach of contract
  • fraudulent transfers under the bankruptcy code and state law
  • Uniform Commercial Code violations
  • guaranty matters post-judgment proceedings
  • real estate and construction cases
  • breach of fiduciary duty claims
  • shareholder disputes
  • products liability matters
  • bankruptcy claim disputes

In addition, he has handled tort cases from his earliest days as an attorney and has experience handling insurance and liability issues.
