His real estate experience has been diverse, touching on such unusual areas as small issue bond financing, permitting for sanitary landfills and other locally undesirable land uses, and environmental permitting for development projects. However, his main focus has been the representation of residential, commercial, and industrial developments within the Southeastern Pennsylvania region. His clients include small and large residential builders (including local, regional, and national companies), commercial and shopping center developers, industrial and corporate park developers, large national companies (for both corporate headquarters and development sites), and landowners desiring to enhance the value of their properties for future development and land use.

Working out of the Firm's Chesterbrook office, John has represented development clients in Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, Berks, Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin, and York counties. The projects have varied in size from single convenience store or home sites to sites of almost 1,400 acres. These projects have included such diverse challenges as Native American villages and other historic resources, wetland and riparian buffer and permits, stormwater management, and exception value stream concerns and traffic planning. In addition, he has been active in the approval and documentation process for retirement community housing in Southeastern Pennsylvania, starting with the advent of retirement housing in the mid-1970s.

Working with the Chester County Development Council, the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry, and the Home Builders Association of Chester and Delaware Counties on development-related issues in Southeastern Pennsylvania, he has served, and continues to serve, on a number of committees and task forces that have addressed stormwater, stream designation, transportation, brownfields, and environmental regulation issues affecting the region and his clients.

John is active in a number of industry groups in Southeastern Pennsylvania, including the Home Builders Association, the Chamber of Business and Industry, and the South Eastern Economic Development Company of PA (SEED Co.). He serves on the Boards of each of these organizations and has been the chairman of SEED Co. and the Chester County Economic Development Council. He is active in and/or chairs a number of committees for these organizations, many of which focus on local government or environmental issues facing the development industry. As such, he has been a spokesperson for these organizations before state and local governmental bodies, including the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
