Morgan N.G. Perna
Morgan Perna assists clients with complex litigation and matters involving cybersecurity and data privacy as well as labor and employment. She has represented colleges and universities, health plans, financial institutions, Fortune 100 companies, and small businesses before state and federal agencies and courts.
Morgan counsels clients on cybersecurity incident preparation and response as well as data privacy and protection matters. Morgan has experience guiding companies and higher education institutions into regulatory and internal compliance, including assessing risks and vulnerabilities to creating data management plans and drafting internal- and external-facing privacy policies and procedures. She has helped companies and institutions achieve compliance with domestic laws, such as HIPAA, BSA, FERPA, as well as international laws, including the GDPR and PIPEDA. The International Association of Privacy Professionals recognizes Morgan as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
Morgan also assists clients in addressing their workplace concerns, from litigating discrimination, harassment, unfair labor practice, or wage and hour claims, to advising clients during workforce crises, to drafting employee handbooks and internal policies. She regularly litigates cases involving breaches of non-competition, non-solicitation, or other restrictive covenants. Additionally, Morgan counsels companies and institutions regarding their workforce challenges, including preparing presentation materials to educate employees about sexual harassment in the workplace, best practices in data management, and sensitive disability issues.
Prior to joining Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr, Morgan served as law clerk to the Honorable Douglas R.M. Nazarian on the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. She is proficient in spoken and written French.
