Neil Schiller

Neil Schiller assists clients with legal matters involving land use, zoning and development, government contracts and procurement, and local, state and federal lobbying. A veteran of South Florida politics since his days at the University of Miami, Neil has run many successful political campaigns in Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties. Through these campaigns and his 20 years of practice as an attorney and lobbyist, Neil has developed  a network of contacts in local, regional, state and federal business and political circles, including local civic activists. In 2009, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel included him in its "Super-Lobbyist" list for his extensive work before the County Commission, and in 2017, the Palm Beach Post said Neil was a "veteran of public hearings."

Experience

Land Use

As a land use/development attorney, Neil has successfully guided developers, investment funds, corporations, non-profits and others through the multifaceted approval process with issues such as comprehensive plan amendments, site-plan approvals, rezonings, variances and special exceptions, and code compliance. Neil has represented large, institutional South Florida developers and homebuilders along with single-purpose entities for "one-off" projects. Additionally, Neil is actively representing several corporate clients in the redevelopment of their sites in South Florida and has represented cellular telecommunication providers and financial institutions in similar roles. As a resident of the county's Agricultural Reserve, Neil advises clients on the ins and outs of developing in the Ag Reserve.

Government Contracts and Procurement

In government procurement, Neil has successfully helped clients navigate procurement processes in a variety of jurisdictions to win multimillion-dollar contracts. From large, multi-national corporations seeking millions of dollars to small, local businesses looking for their first contract, Neil represents clients in the preparation of the RFP submittal, creation of the oral presentation and lobbying for the contract award. Over the years Neil has worked in a myriad of fields in this area representing clients in technology, construction, waste management, engineering services, advertising services, transportation, and much more. Additionally, he has helped clients successfully protest or defend bid protests in procurements.

Lobbying

In his role as lobbyist, Neil maintains a wide-ranging client list over a multitude of industries. Throughout his career, Neil has worked on a variety of projects like funding for a new baseball spring training facility and red-light camera programs in several cities and counties, and he has also represented the local taxi industry in its fight over Uber's expansion into Palm Beach County. More recently, Neil represented South Florida's first private express rail service by securing crossing agreements with dozens of municipalities in five counties from Palm Beach to Brevard; worked with local food purveyors to defeat harmful legislation; and won approval for additional billboards on I-95.
