Overview

Shane Simon is a litigator who represents clients from a variety of industries, including higher education, energy, public utilities, insurance, health care and corporations. His experience includes work on cases in both state and federal courts. In addition to assisting with the challenges posed by litigation, Shane also advises clients on compliance with state and federal regulations affecting their day-to-day operations, including fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, and licensing issues. 
Shane's courtroom experience includes representations at both the trial and appellate level. He manages litigation throughout the course of disputes, from pre-trial work including handling written and expert discovery and taking and defending depositions to motions, settlement negotiations, plenary hearings and appeals.

He also drafts and revises arbitration agreements, as well as advises clients on enforcing them and providing representation in arbitration proceedings.
Shane also regularly counsels and represents public utilities in regulatory proceedings before administrative agencies. He has assisted water, electric, and gas utilities in rate proceedings and has also provided guidance on key issues and initiatives such as electric vehicles and lead service line replacement proposals.
While in law school, Shane was a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Northern District of New York and a summer law clerk for the Honorable Mitchell Goldberg in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
