Building a Privacy Program

Sandy Bilus, vice chair of the Firm's Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice will present during ACC's New to In-House Legal Quick Hits.  Whether you’re new to privacy, or simply new to the in-house role, creating a privacy program from the ground up can be a daunting task.  In the face of an ever-changing compliance landscape as well as constantly evolving business needs, it can be hard to know where to start.  Join us on January 28, 2021 for practical tips from lawyers who have been there.  This Legal Quick Hit will focus on 5 key steps that are critical to building a privacy program.  1) Building a data inventory (or data mapping), 2) Internal policies relating to access of data, including how to respond to data subject access requests (DSARs), 3) External-facing privacy notices, (5) Contracting with third-parties with access to your data, and (6) Incident response.  You’ll also receive information and links to additional resources to further your privacy education and assist in building your privacy program.
