Burcat and Hall discuss criminal enforcement of shale oil regulatory violations for ALI CLE
Joel R. Burcat, chair of the Oil and Gas Practice, and Christopher R. Hall, chair of the White Collar and Government Enforcement Practice, co-presented an American Law Institute Continuing Legal Education (ALI CLE) podcast.
They addressed the recent criminal charges brought by the Pennsylvania Attorney General against XTO Energy under the Clean Streams Law and Solid Wastewater Management Act for the discharge of 50,000 gallons of wastewater in 2010. The speakers explained how such charges come about, in both civil and criminal enforcement actions, and provided guidelines and practice pointers for counsel and others in the field of hydraulic fracturing.
