The New Pennsylvania Hazing Law: What You Need to Know to Manage Your Institution’s Risk

The New Pennsylvania Hazing Law: What You Need to Know to Manage Your Institution’s Risk
A Workshop for Professionals of the K-12 and Higher Education Industry
December 5, 2018

The Timothy J. Piazza Antihazing Law – signed into law in October by Governor Tom Wolf – has resulted in a dramatic shift in the way institutions must track and report hazing incidents on campus.

This two-hour workshop, led by members of Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr’s Higher Education Practice, will provide attendees with an overview of the newly enacted law and include a discussion of the immediate obligations required by the law.  The workshop will also include two breakout sessions where attendees will be split into working groups to engage in tabletop exercises (with the help of our Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr higher education attorneys) and to create working templates for an antihazing policy and a hazing report structure.  Both templates will provide workshop attendees with a resource to help their institutions come into compliance before the first round of reporting is due under the new law and provide a forum for networking with other higher education professionals who have similar responsibilities.
