Connected Care: Bridging The Health Care Tech Divide

Paul Leicht, an associate in the Firm's Intellectual Property Practice, will participate as a judge in the category of Connected Care: Bridging the Healthcare Tech Divide, during the Jefferson Health Hackathon. Digital health technologies offer huge potential benefits to the world, but many people may never be able to access this new generation of care delivery. The digital divide is huge: between the haves and have nots; between the urban and rural; new vs. disintegrating infrastructure; easy adoption vs. complex; experts vs. novices; secure systems vs. those that have been breached. Perhaps most importantly, many people have reason to NOT trust virtual technology. How might teams solve the many challenges and close the gaps, creating trusted and connected care between people and healthcare services?
