Business Lawyers' Institute 2004
Six Saul Ewing Partners, representing each of the Firm's three Pennsylvania offices, are on the faculty for the Business Lawyers’ Institute 2004. The two-day Pennsylvania Bar Institute seminar includes 40 workshops, led by nearly 75 of the state’s top business law professionals.
Catherine E. Walters, a Partner in the Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Practice Group in the Harrisburg office, will address New Overtime Regulations from 11:10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, October 21. Eric L. Brossman, a Partner in the Business Department in the Harrisburg office, will discuss Labor & Employment Issues for the Financially Distressed Company from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
On Friday, October 22, Constance B. Foster, Vice Chair of the Business Department and Co-Chair of the Insurance Practice Group, and Harrisburg Office Managing Partner, will moderate the Plenary Session on Effective Communication Between You and Your Business or Corporate Client. Timothy W. Callahan, II, a Partner in the Litigation Department in the Philadelphia office, will participate as a panelist in the plenary session, which will be from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Frederick D. Strober, a Partner in the Project and Resource Development Department and Philadelphia Office Managing Partner, will participate in a panel on Sarbanes-Oxley Pitfalls for Private and Nonprofit Companies from 11:10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
In the afternoon, Spencer W. Franck, Jr., Vice Chair of the Business Department and resident in the Chesterbrook office, will participate in a panel on Counseling the Board of Directors. Mr. Brossman will serve on a panel from 2:20 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. on First Day Motions in Bankruptcy Court: Be There or Be Square.
Tuition for the entire two-day seminar is $499 for members of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) or any Pennsylvania county bar association. The tuition is $459 for any member admitted after January 1, 2000, and $539 for non-members. Tuition for one day is $269 for members of the PBA or any Pennsylvania county bar association; $249 for members admitted after January 1, 2000 and $289 for non-members. The seminar will take place at The CLE Conference Center in the Wanamaker Building at 13th and Broad streets in Philadelphia.
