The Data Conundrum: Dealing with Fractured and Unstructured Data Generated During All Phases of Capital Project Planning and Construction

Ned Rahn, a partner and co-chair in Saul Ewing’s Construction Practice, presents at the 2017 National Conference of the Construction Users Roundtable in Chandler, Arizona. Ned’s presentation takes place on the second day of the three-day conference and is focused on managing data throughout the lifecycle of capital construction projects. In addition to Ned, the panel features Douglas Carney, Senior Vice President for Facilities, Real Estate and Capital Programs at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia; Mark Cohen, Director of Capital Projects - Jersey City at Deloitte; and Brian McMearty, Senior Manager of Capital Projects- Philadelphia at Deloitte. During the session, the presenters will discuss the risks and challenges that unstructured data presents during these projects, especially when attempting to integrate the data into internal systems, and recommendations for addressing these issues during the lifecycle of a capital project.
