Outsourcing 2014: Negotiating Outsourced Contracts
November 11, 2014

Sarah “Sally” Church, chair of Saul Ewing’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice, and Evan J. Foster, special counsel in the Cybersecurity Services Practice, will present this program for the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Sponsored by Saul Ewing, their  presentation will cover commonly-recognized negotiation strategies for outsourced service contracts and how they fit in the context of outsourcing information technology and employee benefit functions.  They will review issues to consider when negotiating common outsourced functions including:

  • data security;
  • termination and transition;
  •  data and IP ownership;
  •  the potential impact of cloud computing; and
  • employee benefit laws such as ERISA, HIPAA, and the Affordable Care Act.

This approach will also give attendees the opportunity to observe how different outsourcing negotiation models can serve as a tool for compliance and risk mitigation.

Registration for the event will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Duquesne Club, located at 325 Sixth Avenue. The one-hour presentation will start at 4:00 p.m. A networking reception will follow from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

One hour of substantive CLE credit in Pennsylvania is offered to attendees.
