Higher Education Class Actions Due to COVID-19

Across the country, colleges and universities have been named as defendants in class action suits brought by students and parents demanding the reimbursement of tuition, room and board, and other student fee expenses related to temporary campus closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Higher Education Practice has been tracking and analyzing these types of cases since the first class action was filed against an institution in late March. Through our tracking efforts, we have developed a strong understanding of the nature of these cases, the claims asserted, the damages demanded, and the core plaintiff firms handling these matters.

INTERACTIVE STATE MAP OF FILED CLASS ACTIONS

If an institution is named in a class action tuition reimbursement/other student fee suit, its state of operation is shaded below. Additionally, hovering over a shaded state will show the total number of class action suits filed against schools operating within that particular state.
