Saul Ewing Elects Two Attorneys to Counsel

(PHILADELPHIA, February 1, 2022) - Saul Ewing LLP is thrilled to announce that the following attorneys have been promoted from associate to counsel:

Melissa Clarke (Princeton): Ms. Clarke advises on environmental law and real estate transactions, with a particular focus on environmental litigation, penalty and enforcement matters, and cost recovery actions involving federal and state statutes and regulations, such as CERCLA (Superfund), RCRA and New Jersey’s Spill Act. In addition to counseling clients on regulatory compliance, Ms. Clarke assists them in obtaining and defending state and federal environmental permits. As a transactional attorney, Ms. Clarke regularly negotiates and drafts environmental contractual provisions in a wide variety of corporate and real property transactions.

Matthew Veenstra (Minneapolis): Mr. Veenstra assists clients with commercial litigation matters, including shareholder disputes and disputes involving contracts, such as noncompetition agreements and insurance policies. He also has extensive experience in financial services litigation, including fraud and lender liability claims. Mr. Veenstra handles lawsuits from initial pleadings through dispositive motions and trial. He has significant courtroom experience and has been involved in several high-profile cases in the greater Minneapolis metropolitan area.
