Beginning December 1, 2019, New Jersey residents who are adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse will have two years to sue the alleged abuser or the institution where the alleged abuser worked. The state’s two-year “lookback window” is part of a law passed in May 2019 extending the state’s statute of limitations up to age 55 for civil claims related to childhood sexual abuse.
