Burcat Featured in Article on Law Firm Migration
"More Lawyers Flee Megafirms", The National Law Journal
Joel R. Burcat, a Partner in the Harrisburg office and Chair of the Environment, Energy and Utilities Department, is featured in this article about how more lawyers are migrating from large, national law firms in search of practice freedom and the collegiality of mid-sized firms that have the resources they need and the quality of lawyering they demand.
Mr. Burcat said he moved from a nearly 1000-attorney firm to Saul Ewing, which then had 237 attorneys, because his previous firm's vast growth had made him a stranger among his fellow partners, whose practices spread from New York to Los Angeles. The expansion also failed to benefit his environmental law practice, which had its roots in the Mid-Atlantic states.
