Firm’s Boston-based attorneys highlighted in story on real estate transactions
Sally E. Michael, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Practice, explains in this story the increasing amount of business that she and others in the Boston office handled as the year 2012 progressed. While transactions and acquisition were soft in the beginning of the year, they picked up substantially in the second half, she said.
The story details an $18.5 million, 91-unit multifamily portfolio in Allston and West Roxbury that Michael handled along with a $65 million acquisitions of an eight-building 620,000-square-foot office portfolio in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. Also mentioned is a $51.5 million deal for the Providence, Rhode Island-based GTECH Center office tower, which was handled by firm Partner Don Lussier and Special Counsel Jim Shulman.
Michael attributes some of the momentum to Saul Ewing opening its Boston office in July 2011 by merging with Dionne & Gass. A favorable lending environment, including low interest rates, also encouraged refinancing, she said.
