The Third Circuit recently rejected a $5.5 million deal with Google which Law360 called "the latest blow to privacy class action settlements that deliver no monetary relief to consumers..." in this article. April Doss, chair of the Firm's Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice, was quoted on the impact of this ruling.

"While this case by itself is unlikely to change the direction of ongoing conversations, it provides privacy advocates with one more example to point to in this larger discussion around whether legislative action needs to be taken in order to set specific monetary benchmarks for privacy harms," said April.
