Dipesh Patel, an associate in Saul Ewing’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice, is quoted in this article regarding a defamation suit filed against Univision Communications Inc. over a Deadspin story that the company acquired through the purchase of Gawker Media’s blogs last year in a bankruptcy auction. The article explains that RJ Bell is suing both the media company and the freelance author of the story. It is also noted that Dipesh and partner Sharon Levine represented the writers throughout the bankruptcy settlement, and obtained a liability release to protect individual writers from being sued for stories they wrote before the sale.

“We believe that the writers are protected by the third-party release and injunction set forth in Gawker’s confirmed chapter 11 plan,” said Dipesh in the article.
