Philly.com Highlights the Firm’s Pro Bono Work in Philadelphia

Philly's urban gardeners are under siege from gentrification. Here's what they're doing about it.

In Philadelphia, several gardens exist across the city to populate empty land. A growing number of these gardens are being lost to sherriff’s and private sales as a result of the rising value of land. Ned Rahn and Mary Beth Schluckebier, members of the Firm’s Litigation Practice, have joined a small group of lawyers who are representing these community gardens pro bono. The motivation behind the cases are to preserve the spaces that have helped to stabilize the city’s neighborhoods and reduce violent crime.
