Saul Ewing’s involvement featured in article on progress in Puerto Rico bankruptcy case
Saul Ewing’s representation of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), one of several public employment retiree organizations assisting with the formation of an official committee in Puerto Rico’s bankruptcy case, is mentioned in this article. The article explains how things have been progressing and how Federal District Court Judge Laura Taylor Swain is managing controversies in the renegotiation of the Island’s debt. With respect to the AFSCME, the attorneys are trying to negotiate with bondholders of the Retirement Systems Administration (ASR, Spanish acronym). While an agreement has not been reached, both parties have until July 10, 2017 to come to an agreement.
