Amidst Growing Market Uncertainty, Saul Ewing Attorneys Close Acquisition of Chicago's Cityfront Place

Published

On April 1, a team led by Saul Ewing's Barry Katz, Katie Gilligan and Roy Bernstein represented the purchaser in the acquisition of Cityfront Place, a 480-unit apartment building with several commercial tenants located at 400 N. McClurg Court, just off the Magnificent Mile in Chicago’s downtown business district. Our client is a joint venture between a real-estate investor-developer based in Chicago, IL and Lakewood, N.J., and one of the largest financial services groups in South Korea. Closing this transaction was the culmination of over six months of work, and included navigating numerous and unprecedented challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic conditions.
