Arnstein & Lehr LLP Welcomes New Environmental Partner

The national law firm of Arnstein & Lehr LLP welcomes Matthew P. Coglianese to its West Palm Beach office as a partner in the Environmental Practice Group.

“We are excited to welcome Matt to the firm as a partner in our environmental group,” said Steven Daniels, Managing Partner of the firm’s West Palm Beach and Boca Raton offices. “Matt brings a great deal of experience in state and local environmental matters and will be a tremendous asset to the firm, in both Florida and Chicago.”

Mr. Coglianese’s practice focuses on environmental counseling of all types, across many levels of the private and public sectors, where he handles due diligence work; defense of local, state and federal regulatory enforcement; permitting appeals; rule challenges and legislative initiatives as well as environmental issues faced by lenders, borrowers and developers in a variety of settings. He counsels builders and developers on storm water issues and has also worked with them on contamination problems and green building issues.

Mr. Coglianese litigates environmental issues in state and federal courts and in administrative hearings. He has extensive experience in litigating high profile cases and handling a variety of federal and state enforcement matters like the Clean Water Act and wetlands issues, CERCLA and RCRA, state and local environmental matters, i.e., mold, toxic tort, and construction defect litigation. His prior experience as an EPA attorney and a senior attorney with a major Los Angeles-based petroleum company lends him much experience in managing Superfund and state hazardous waste sites nationwide.

Mr. Coglianese has repeatedly appeared in Florida Super Lawyers, Chambers USA and Best Lawyers and has had many environmental and construction law articles published in journals and books. Prior to graduating law school at the University of Miami, he received his Ph.D. in Biology from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the Florida and California Bars.
