Two attorneys have joined Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr's White Collar and Government Litigation Practice in the Pittsburgh office, Partner Joseph A. Valenti and Associate Allison L. Burdette.

Mr. Valenti and Ms. Burdette both represent entities and individuals during investigation and litigation of white collar criminal and civil matters, including providing courtroom defense in federal and state courts. Clients who are subject to a search warrant, receive a subpoena from the government or face indictment by a grand jury rely on Mr. Valenti and Ms. Burdette to represent their interests. These matters typically involve compliance with federal and state laws, such as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), fraud statutes, anti-money-laundering regulations, consumer protection laws, child protection laws and anti-harassment laws, among many others. Mr. Valenti also handles cases involving the False Claims Act (FCA) and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Business clients also turn to Mr. Valenti and Ms. Burdette to handle internal investigations into  activities in their workplaces. They conduct these investigations both as part of the potential defense of companies facing government investigations, as well to help clients verify their compliance with government regulations and minimize risks that could lead to non-compliance.

While Ms. Burdette also handles matters for energy clients, Mr. Valenti provides representation in cases involving free speech, copyrights, trademarks, advertising, cybersecurity, data privacy and commercial litigation.

"We are excited that Joe and Allison have joined Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr's Pittsburgh office," said David Berk, office managing partner. "The addition of Joe and Allison expands the legal services available to our local clients and enhances the firm's already strong capabilities in the areas of investigation, enforcement and white collar matters."

Both Mr. Valenti and Ms. Burdette earned their J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law. Mr. Valenti also has a B.A. from Duquesne University, and Ms. Burdette has a B.S. from Allegheny College.
