Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr Achieves Mansfield Certification as Part of its Ongoing Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Published: 09/24/2020

(Philadelphia - September 15, 2020) — Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr (SEA&L) is proud to announce that it  has achieved Mansfield Certification for 2020 following the firm's successful implementation of Mansfield Rule 3.0.

This certification is awarded by the Diversity Lab, an incubator for innovation focused on boosting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. Mansfield Certification means that SEA&L considered at least 30 percent women, racially and ethnically diverse, and LGBTQ+ lawyers for significant leadership roles, lateral openings, inclusion on pitch teams, and promotions over the past year.

"We are committed to building diverse and inclusive client service teams at Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr, and our participation in the Mansfield initiatives provides an excellent framework to set us up for success in meeting this goal,” said the firm's Managing Partner Barry F. Levin. “In addition to simply being the right thing to do, we understand that when we bring a diverse and inclusive team to the table, it not only benefits our clients but also contributes to the proactive steps our firm is taking to create a more equitable workplace for everyone.”

A total of 100 firms in the United States are Mansfield 3.0 Certified.

SEA&L will build on this effort by participating in Mansfield Rule 4.0 over the next year. The original Mansfield Rule was the winning idea in the Diversity Lab’s 2016 Women in Law Hackathon, a pitch competition in the style of "Shark Tank" where private practice and in-house lawyers developed ideas for innovations in diversity and inclusion.
