(PHILADELPHIA, January 3, 2022) - Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP announced today that it has elected nine attorneys to the firm’s partnership, effective January 1, 2022. The new partners are:

Carmen Contreras-Martinez: Ms. Contreras-Martinez is counsel in the Litigation Department, based in Miami. She represents corporate clients who are involved in commercial disputes or facing financial difficulties that require them to restructure or file for bankruptcy. The dual nature of her practice as a trial lawyer and bankruptcy attorney also positions her to handle cases where unresolved issues connected to contracts, disagreements involving business partners and shareholders, or other matters, may push clients to consider bankruptcy proceedings. Ms. Contreras-Martinez has been included in the Top Lawyers List by the Florida Legal Guide for many years, including this year.

Justin W. Crotty: Mr. Crotty is an associate in the Transactional Department, based in Boston.  He brings both a scientific and business sensibility to his work helping clients protect their intellectual property through patent prosecution, inter-partes review proceedings and litigation, particularly for the pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology industries. Mr. Crotty holds both a B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry.

Marisa R. De Feo: Ms. De Feo is an associate in the Litigation Department, based in Philadelphia and Wilmington. She has experience in complex commercial litigation and routinely provides higher education and K-12 entities with advice on issues involving compliance, policy, and liability, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and similar laws. This year, Ms. De Feo was included on the 2021 list of The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch for Commercial Litigation.

David J. Martin: Mr. Martin is an associate in the Transactional Department, based in Wilmington. He assists real estate companies, real estate investment trusts (REITs) and other businesses in complex acquisitions and dispositions of office, retail, industrial and multi-family properties, including multi-million dollar portfolios and joint venture arrangements, across the United States. His experience includes handling title, survey and leasing due diligence, conducting closings, and preparing purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, and other contracts pertinent to these deals.  Mr. Martin was included on the 2021 list of The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch for Real Estate Law.

Bridgitte E. Mott: Ms. Mott is an associate in the Litigation Department, based in Boston. She maintains a general litigation practice and handles a variety of matters for individual and corporate clients involved in complex commercial disputes. Her experience includes business tort claims, contract disputes and corporate governance issues. Ms. Mott gives back to the community by participating in Discovering Justice’s “Stand Up For Your Rights,” a program that involves teaching a 10-week course about the First and Fourth Amendments to Boston-area middle school students.

Kara P. Pike: Ms. Pike is an associate in the Transactional Department, based in Harrisburg. She advises clients in the insurance industry on regulatory matters involving federal and state insurance laws. Her experience includes working on numerous multi-state insurance regulatory issues, including underwriting limitations, unfair discrimination, partnership policy requirements, rebating, and rate and form requirements.  In 2020, Ms. Pike was named Dauphin County Bar Association's Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year.

David Y. Sartorio: Mr. Sartorio is an associate in the Transactional Department, based in Minneapolis. He focuses his practice on corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, control and non-control investments, joint ventures and strategic partnerships. Mr. Sartorio has experience advising companies ranging from private start-up and growth companies to large public companies across diverse industry sectors, including energy and renewable energy, agricultural technology, video gaming and life sciences, as well as private equity and venture capital firms. He was named to the Rising Star list, North Carolina Super Lawyers, from 2016 to 2018.

Nicholas C. Stewart: Mr. Stewart is counsel in the Transactional Department, based in Baltimore. He provides counsel on planning and executing mergers and acquisitions, and private equity and venture financings, with experience in industries ranging from technology, health care and advanced manufacturing to insurance, telecommunications and cannabis.  He has represented funds and strategics seeking to raise and deploy capital, and companies seeking growth capital, exits or other liquidity events.  Mr. Stewart has been selected to the Maryland "Super Lawyers" Rising Stars list since 2018, a distinction granted to only 2.5 percent of Maryland attorneys.

David Yontz: Mr. Yontz is counsel in the Transactional Department, based in Chicago. He handles acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and financing in his commercial real estate practice. Landlords and tenants rely on him to draft, review and negotiate leases and related agreements for office, industrial and retail premises. Mr. Yontz was recognized as a “Rising Star” in commercial leasing by the Georgetown Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute.

“Although the skills that they bring to the table differ, all of these lawyers are committed to excellence in practice and have demonstrated a superior dedication to client service and a deep loyalty to our Firm,” said Managing Partner Barry F. Levin. “We are confident that our newest partners will continue to flourish as they move into this next phase of their Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr careers.”
