Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr Further Strengthens its Litigation, Insurance and Cyber Practices with Addition of Two Former Sedgwick Attorneys, Christopher J.M. Collings and Laurie A. Kamaiko

Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP today announced that Christopher J.M. Collings and Laurie A. Kamaiko have joined the firm as partners in the Litigation Practice. Mr. Collings, who is resident in the Miami, Fla. office, and Ms. Kamaiko, who is resident in the New York, N.Y. office, both previously worked for the now-defunct law firm Sedgwick LLP.

Mr. Collings assists business clients in industries ranging from manufacturing and retail to health care, life sciences and financial services with matters involving consumer class action and products liability. His trial experience includes representations in class actions involving products liability, product mislabeling and deceptive trade practices. In addition, Chris handles a myriad of complex commercial litigation.

Ms. Kamaiko advises clients in a wide range of industries on emerging and complex risks associated with cybersecurity and helps them limit their exposure to cyber incidents and respond to data breaches and related litigation. She has extensive experience in counseling insurers and reinsurers on the handling of claims and coverage issues arising from these events, as well as from other types of catastrophic occurrences and emerging risks, and works closely with them on new product development and policy wordings.

“Although Chris’s and Laurie’s practices are not interrelated, their contributions will further strengthen our already strong Litigation Department,” said Edward J. Baines, Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Practice. “Chris’s experience with product liability will enhance our practice in this area, particularly in our Miami office, and he will deepen our bench of attorneys who handle consumer class action and complex commercial litigation.

Mr. Baines added, “ Laurie’s work on both cyber risks and insurance positions her well to handle matters where these two areas of the law intersect, particularly for clients of our Insurance Practice. Because she also advises companies in a variety of industries on their cybersecurity and privacy exposures and compliance issues, her capabilities are also an outstanding complement to our Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice, which supports clients in their response planning for cyber-attacks, crisis management during an occurrence, and operations after a cyber-attack or breach occurs.”

Mr. Collings earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. from College of the Holy Cross. Ms. Kamaiko earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and Vassar College.
