Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr Further Strengthens its Real Estate Practice With Addition of Two Former Ledgewood Attorneys, Kevin S. Barber and Jeffrey S. Lin
Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP today announced that Kevin Barber and Jeffrey Lin have joined the Firm as, respectively, a partner and an associate in the Real Estate Practice. Both will be resident in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office.
Mr. Barber is a real estate and commercial finance attorney with more than 20 years of experience handling deals nationwide. He assists public companies, private developers and REITs with acquisitions, sales, preferred equity investments, joint ventures, and low-income and subsidized housing transactions. His lending work for private equity funds and commercial lending institutions includes structuring, documenting and negotiating complex mortgage loans, mezzanine loans and commercial loan workouts. In addition, he counsels institutional landlords, commercial tenants and other owners and operators of commercial real estate.
Mr. Lin worked closely with Mr. Barber at their former firm on commercial real estate deals and leasing works and will continue to do so at Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr. Mr. Lin advises real estate clients about general corporate matters, and he negotiates and drafts various business agreements. He also has an understanding of corporate tax issues which is bolstered by past work as an international corporate tax consultant at a Big Four accounting organization and as a senior tax analyst at a multi-national finance and insurance corporation.
"The combination of Kevin's more than two decades of experience and Jeffrey’s support as an associate will deepen our bench of attorneys who handle real estate matters for clients across the United States and in particular in the Philadelphia market," said John "Jack" Pierce, chair of the Firm’s Real Estate, Environmental and Energy Department. "We are pleased to welcome them both to our Firm."
Mr. Barber earned his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and his B.A. from College of the Holy Cross. Mr. Lin earned both an LL.M. in Taxation and a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law as well. Mr. Lin also has a B.A. from Boston College.
