Saul Ewing Further Strengthens Pittsburgh Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Capabilities with the Addition of Two New Attorneys

Saul Ewing LLP, a full-service law firm with more than 270 lawyers in 11 East Coast offices, today announced that Allison L. Feldstein has joined the firm as a partner in the Labor and Employment Practice, and Dasha G. Brockmeyer has joined as an associate in the Tax and Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practices. They will be resident in the firm’s Pittsburgh, Pa. office.

Ms. Feldstein has substantial experience representing management in various industries with employment-related and traditional labor matters. She regularly defends employers before administrative agencies and state and federal courts in cases involving claims of employment discrimination, retaliation, retaliatory discharge, state and federal wage and hour laws (including FLSA collective actions), family and medical leave laws and restrictive covenants. Ms. Feldstein also represents management in traditional labor matters, including representation and unfair labor practice cases before the National Labor Relations Board; negotiates collective bargaining agreements; provides counseling during strike and picketing activity; and represents employers in grievance arbitration. A large part of Ms. Feldstein’s practice includes counseling employers regarding virtually all workplace employment decisions. She has written and presented extensively on these topics. 

Ms. Brockmeyer provides counseling to companies on issues relating to their pension, retirement and welfare benefit plans.  Her practical knowledge about the application of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), COBRA, Health Insurance Affordability and Accountability Act (HIPAA),  ADA, FMLA and Section 409A stems in part from her previous experience as a tax attorney advising on payroll and benefits issues for a major steel company. She is also knowledgeable about the Internal Revenue Code and its application to executive compensation, plan administration, and reporting  requirements for tax-exempt vehicles.

Prior to joining Saul Ewing, Ms. Feldstein was an Equity Member at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott in Pittsburgh. Before working in the steel industry, Ms. Brockmeyer was an associate at an employee benefits boutique law firm.

Ms. Feldstein earned her law degree, with honors, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Indiana University. Ms. Brockmeyer earned her law degree from Roger Williams University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
