OCR ends 2013 with a bang and a familiar story

Bruce D. Armon, a partner in Saul Ewing’s Health Practice and managing partner of the firm’s Philadelphia office, is quoted in this article about a $150,000 settlement agreement that a dermatology practice reached with the Office of Civil Rights over potential HIPAA violations. Armon said in the article that the cost of such settlements is relative.

“No matter the size of the covered entity, a breach of PHI (Protected Health Information) can have very expensive consequences,” Bruce is quoted as saying.
