Be Thankful for the Good Things, Young Attorneys

Yes, the holidays are a hectic time for attorneys. There is the push to make billable hours, close deals and clear out litigation to start the new year fresh.  But, Michael J. Joyce, an associate in the Commercial Litigation Practice, encourages young attorneys to take the time to be thankful during the holidays. After all, he reasons, it is the people and the support around you that help you succeed year-long.

Despite the busy weeks, Mr. Joyce concludes: “It is important to enjoy the few minutes of that water cooler chat with a trusted office confidant; relish the small talk and awkward jokes with a client from time to time; ensure the appropriate gratitude to the vital support systems in the office and at home, while recognizing the role that each player has to the success of each location; and remember the times that luck falls in a favorable direction. These elements of good, no matter how seemingly minute when the holidays heat up, are what keep us moving forward in our careers, and in our lives.”
