BOSTON, (JULY 1, 2025) – Tal Unrad, an experienced corporate attorney, has joined Saul Ewing, where he will focus on complex mergers and acquisitions and the restructuring of distressed assets. Mr. Unrad will be a partner in the firm’s Boston office.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tal to Saul Ewing,” said Boston Office Managing Partner Joseph D. Lipchitz. “Tal has a comprehensive understanding of both global and local markets that he taps to help clients effectively navigate business law as they work through deals that are key to their corporate evolution.”
“I was drawn to the collaborative approach Saul Ewing uses in supporting business clients,” Mr. Unrad said. “Handling sophisticated corporate transactions requires deep knowledge across many complementary areas of the law, from tax, labor and employment, and executive compensation to intellectual property and real estate. The attorneys at Saul Ewing harness their experience in these areas to help clients close deals that reshape their companies. I’m excited to be a part of the team.”
In addition to assisting with M&A deals, Mr. Unrad helps with corporate structuring and advises on tax efficiencies, lending and financing, IP licensing and SaaS agreements, and corporate contracts. He also represents both domestic and international buyers and sellers in middle-market asset and stock purchase transactions.
Mr. Unrad has substantial experience representing distressed businesses in lender workouts, assignments for the benefit of creditors, private asset sales, Article 9 foreclosures, and bankruptcy filings, including 363 bankruptcy sales. His understanding of secured financing transactions, the perfection of security interests, asset foreclosures, and debt restructurings makes him a trusted advisor in navigating challenging financial landscapes.
Mr. Unrad also advises entrepreneurs and emerging companies in Boston’s start-up community on structuring their businesses and securing early-stage financing. He also provides legal counsel to venture capital and private equity firms in acquisitions and sales of businesses.
Mr. Unrad earned a J.D. from University of Connecticut School of Law. He also has a B.A. from Tufts University.
