Philadelphia (December 4, 2024) - Saul Ewing LLP announced today that James S. Gkonos, Counsel in the firm’s Insurance Practice, has been appointed Chairman and President of the Federation of Regulatory Counsel (FORC), the premier organization for attorneys who practice insurance regulatory law in the United States. He was previously Vice Chairman, an At-Large Board Member, and Seminar Chairman of the organization.
Jim will lead an organization whose members can join only after they are successfully vetted by the FORC Admissions Committee. Members must bill more than 50 percent of their work on insurance regulatory matters annually for at least seven years and obtain recommendations from insurance industry executives and other FORC members.
Jim has practiced insurance and reinsurance regulatory law for more than four decades, including advising on regulatory issues and contracts, interpreting reinsurance treaties, and representing clients in reinsurance disputes.
