Lizza Named to the NJBIZ Law Power List for the Eighth Consecutive Year

Saul Ewing LLP is proud to announce that Partner Charles M. Lizza was named to the 2026 NJBIZ Law Power list. This is the eighth year in a row that Mr. Lizza has been included on this list of the state’s top lawyers. Professionals are selected based on their leadership, expertise, and impact within the legal community.

Mr. Lizza currently serves as lead New Jersey litigation counsel in more than three dozen patent cases for approximately 20 major pharmaceutical companies. This year, Mr. Lizza is representing Incyte Corporation and Incyte Holdings Corporation ("Incyte") against seven generic pharmaceutical companies in ANDA litigations in the District of New Jersey involving Incyte’s blockbuster Jakafi brand drug product. He is also representing BioNTech against Moderna to protect BioNTech’s COMIRNATY COVID-19 vaccine, in a case that will likely impact patents using mRNA technology for future vaccines. Prior examples of Mr. Lizza’s work include representation of Helsinn Healthcare S.A. in major trial victories against Teva and Dr. Reddy’s (in a case that eventually went to the U.S. Supreme Court) involving the Aloxi brand drug product (market value of judgments $3.2 billion) and representing Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ("J&J") and Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corp. in a complete trial victory against Zydus involving the compound patent covering Janssen’s blockbuster Invokana diabetes drug product, with annual sales in the billions. 

In public service, Mr. Lizza serves on the Board of Trustees of Saint Peter’s University. He is also a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Covenant House New York and past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Saint Peter’s Prep.
