Minneapolis, (May 7, 2026) – Saul Ewing LLP has expanded its Corporate Practice in Minneapolis with the hiring of Partner Soobin Kim, who will focus on complex mergers and acquisitions and early to late round financing transactions. Soobin handles deals for both domestic and foreign clients, with a particular focus on the Asia/Pacific region where he spent over a decade working for one of the largest law firms in Korea. Soobin will be resident in the firm’s Minneapolis office.

"We are thrilled to welcome Soobin to the firm," said Minneapolis Office Managing Max Bremer. "Soobin is a trusted advisor to corporate clients who seek an attorney capable of handling sophisticated cross-border M&A deals, particularly those requiring deep insight into the Asia-Pacific market. In joining Saul Ewing, he further expands our national and international corporate platform while adding immediate bench strength to our Minneapolis private equity and venture capital teams."

Mr. Kim has over 15 years' experience working on M&A transactions on behalf of private equity clients, strategic investors including multinational companies, and large family-owned businesses. He is particularly attuned to the needs of foreign clients who carry out acquisitions and investments in the United States, advising them on regulatory matters that touch upon inbound transactions and guiding them on the operational aspects of acquiring and running a company in the United States.

Mr. Kim also has extensive experience advising on corporate financing transactions, and he represents both issuers and investors in venture capital financings, from seed and early-stage rounds through later-stage and pre-exit investments. He helps clients evaluate financing structures, navigate governance and investor rights arrangements, and prepare for future capital-raising and liquidity events.

A native Korean speaker, Mr. Kim also represents clients from Korea and other parts of Asia and Europe on a diverse range of matters including joint ventures, corporate restructurings, re-incorporation in the United States (including advising on so-called "Delaware flip" transactions), regulatory issues and other legal matters that typically touch on the day-to-day governance of U.S. subsidiaries and affiliates of foreign companies. In serving foreign clients, Mr. Kim draws on his experience, knowledge, and cultural sensitivities which he has gained through working and living across several different countries in Asia, Europe and North America.

Mr. Kim has a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. from Cornell University.
