Saul Ewing Assists in Successful Application for Offshore Renewable Energy Credits for Marwin II, LLC and US Wind

Saul Ewing LLP served as counsel to Marwin II, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of US Wind, Inc., in the application to the Maryland Public Service Commission for, and approval of, approximately 800 megawatts of Maryland Offshore Renewable Energy Credits ("ORECs"). The addition of the extra 800 megawatts of ORECs provides US Wind with the opportunity to substantially increase the size of its offshore wind plant off the coast of Maryland.

US Wind is majority owned by Toto Holding, SPA, an Italian Company. Asked for comment, US Wind's Country Manager and General Counsel, Salvo Vitale, stated: "We are proud of this new historic milestone that reaffirms the role of the State of Maryland in the offshore wind industry.  Seven years have passed since I moved to Baltimore, Maryland to begin the development of this project, and looking back it is amazing how many things US Wind has been able to accomplish - and the best is yet to come!"

The Saul Ewing US Wind team consists of Tom Prevas (environmental/energy), Pamela Goodwin (environmental/energy), Jacque Brooks (corporate), Sunu Pillai (litigation/construction), Wendie Stabler (Real Estate), and Anamika Roy (litigation).
