Chicago, (FEBRUARY 18, 2026) – Saul Ewing LLP has expanded its Corporate Practice in Chicago with the hiring of Counsel Fielden Fleming, a trusted legal advisor on M&A deals and as outside general counsel to closely held businesses. Mr. Fielden's work helping business owners and management teams navigate transactions and corporate matters that define their companies’ trajectories is influenced by his experience in both private practice and as an in-house general counsel.
"We are thrilled to welcome Fielden to the firm," said Chicago Office Managing Partner Toby Eveland. "Fielden approaches his work with clients as a strategic partner who remains mindful of their business objectives while helping them navigate legal risks in both deals and their day-to-day business."
Mr. Flemings's transactional work with middle-market companies, entrepreneurs, and private equity sponsors spans from growth-stage capital raises to strategic exits. He represents both buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, and minority investments. He has particular depth advising first-time sellers, guiding founders and family business owners through the complexities of selling companies they have built. On the buy side, he works with private equity firms and strategic acquirers on platform acquisitions and add-on transactions.
Beyond deals, Mr. Fleming provides ongoing general counsel services to closely held businesses, advising on corporate governance, commercial contracts, and the operational legal issues.
Mr. Fleming's experience includes serving as general counsel for Marvesta Holdings, where he managed a portfolio of operating companies and handled matters ranging from M&A to commercial contracting to corporate governance.
Mr. Fleming has a J.D. from University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and a B.A. from Albion College.
