Baltimore, (OCTOBER 29, 2025) – Saul Ewing LLP has expanded its Public Finance and Real Estate groups in Maryland for the second time in two months with the hiring of Counsel Camille Bent. Ms. Bent, who brings more than two decades of legal experience to her role, is resident in the firm's Baltimore office.
"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Camille to the firm," said Baltimore Office Managing Partner Jonathan Havens. "She has deep experience with and a long history of closing significant public finance and real estate deals in Maryland, including work on some of the same projects as Kimberly J. Min and Craig B. Heron, partners who joined us in September 2025. Together, they will provide our clients with a deep bench of sophisticated and strategic counsel and support from the earliest stages of their deals through post-closing and beyond."
Ms. Bent represents borrowers in connection with tax-exempt and taxable bond financings, as well as national and local lending institutions in connection with the credit enhancement or direct purchase of bonds. She also advises borrowers on post-issuance tax compliance and continuing disclosure obligations.
George T. Magnatta, chair of the firm’s Public Finance Practice, added, “Camille has a strong track record of handling very complex acquisition financing and construction projects. Her move to Saul Ewing means our clients in Maryland who rely on public financing to support these types of projects now have an even strong team in the state to guide them."
On the real estate side of her practice, Ms. Bent represents developers, equity investors and nonprofit organizations in the acquisition, development and disposition of residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties, including projects in the health care, senior living and higher education industries. She also drafts, reviews and negotiates commercial agreements, assists with setting up joint ventures and corporate structures, and advises on general contract documents.
Ms. Bent also provides legal counsel for borrower clients securing financing for various real estate projects. Her experience includes real estate financing transactions that leverage conventional bank loans, government programs through HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, tax-exempt and taxable bonds, and tax credits including those for affordable housing projects. She also has experience representing national and regional lenders in commercial lending transactions.
Ms. Bent has a J.D. from University of Maryland Frances King Carey School of Law and a B.A. from Hampton University.
