- Business and Practice Needs Analysis
- Support project managers to understand workflows, pain points and knowledge gaps gathered from attorneys, practice groups and business teams.
- Translate legal and operational needs into functional requirements for firm business tools and solutions.
- Identify opportunities where knowledge, data, or AI can improve efficiency or quality.
- KM Solutions Design and Enablement
- Identify firm solutions such as: practice portals and resources pages, precedent and clause libraries, matter-centric knowledge views, AI-enabled research, drafting and retrieval workflows.
- Define use cases and success criteria for KM initiatives.
- Support pilot and proofs of concept for new tools.
- AI and Advanced Capabilities Support
- Identify and document AI-ready use cases across practices.
- Assist with prompt design, training materials and usage guidance.
- Help monitor adoption, effectiveness and risks if AI tools.
- Support feedback loops for continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role within a law firm environment
- Proven experience in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
- String understanding of legal workflows and practice group needs
- Experience with KM systems, legal tech, or enterprise platforms
- Skilled in using process automation platforms (PowerAutomate, NeotaLogic, document automation tools, etc,)
- Ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences
- Analytical mindset with strong documentation skills
- Comfort working with data, AI-enabled tools, and process improvement
- Positive approach to team collaboration and goodwill ambassador for the Knowledge Management Department when working with attorneys, practice groups and other firm administrative departments.
- Solid organizational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and re-prioritize as necessary to meet competing deadlines, collaborate effectively across multiple teams and present complex findings in clear, actionable format.
- Serve as a liaison between KM, IT, Group Operations, and vendors as related to firm projects.
- Support implementation, configuration, and optimization of platforms (DMS, experience databases, AI tools).
- Evaluate new KM and legal tech solutions and assist with vendor assessments.
- Help define and document: Knowledge taxonomies and metadata standards, content lifecycle and curation workflows, data quality and validation rules.
- Support governance efforts related to AI, data usage, and knowledge security.
- Assist in documenting knowledge sources and system dependencies.
- Create functional requirements, workflows and solution documentation.
- Map current-state vs. future-state processes.
- Support change management efforts related to KM and firm initiatives,
- Document integrations between new systems and other firm platforms.
- Develop comprehensive documentation to support project execution, facilitate knowledge transfer, and enable effective training and adoption.

The pay for this position will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, education, external market data, internal equity, and other job-related factors. The anticipated pay range for this role is between $90k - $100k annually.
Saul Ewing follows a hybrid work schedule. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of one of our office locations.
