Alicia Pitts

Alicia Pitts maintains a general litigation practice with a focus on internal investigations involving white collar crime and government enforcement as well as higher education. She is a vigorous advocate for clients in a wide variety of disputes throughout the litigation process and trial. Her experience includes matters involving the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), False Claims Act (FCA) and general corporate compliance across a multitude of federal regulations. She also provides anticorruption and compliance counseling. Alicia’s work for the higher education industry includes matters involving claims of sexual assault, sexual harassment and gender discrimination and related investigations and compliance counseling involving Title IX, Title VI and Title VII.

As a value-add to clients, Alicia has a high-level government security clearance that can be helpful in investigations involving government contractors and government employees.

Prior to practicing law, Alicia was in the U.S. Air Force, where she was assigned to the Office of Special Investigations as a federal agent, focusing on investigating crimes against children and forensics. Alicia is a Certified Crime Scene Investigator with the International Association for Identification (IAI). Alicia is currently serving in the Air Force Reserves as a federal agent focusing on criminal matters and threats to national security.

Alicia maintains an active pro bono practice, particularly with cases focusing on criminal innocence and freeing wrongly convicted individuals. She is also on the Executive Committee for the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland (PBRC) Board of Directors.
