Al’s diverse experience provides clients with a broad understanding of how international, state regulatory, and law enforcement priorities may impact their interests. Armed with this insight, Al works collaboratively with in-house teams and individuals on options for managing risks when implications of wrongdoing arise. His focus is on helping clients either avoid government entanglements – particularly in cases where they are not the target – or resolve them with the impact on both legal and business issues in mind. His advice can be informed by his vast understanding of the nuances that influence prosecutors on whether to bring a case after an investigation.

Building on his cyber and computer forensic experience at the FBI and DOJ, Al is a certified information privacy professional in the United States (CIPP/US) and leverages his investigative skills to counsel clients on cybersecurity risk management and data privacy issues, including when these issues arise in applications of marketing technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), in mergers and acquisitions and supply chain and vendor contracting. Al also helps clients plan for how to respond to a critical incident, such as a data breach or a bug bounty demand, and, when needed, counsels them through such crises.

Due to the high-profile nature of his past work and this thought leadership, Al is a sought-after source on topics ranging from criminal enforcement, national security issues, human rights, government enforcement priorities, crisis response and issues involving free speech, privacy, and security.
